To the next stage.

Time to get cracking - eat clean, train hard!

It's been a week now since Musclemania Britain and it feels so long ago now. It's crazy how time is going so quickly. Lots happened last week, but one thing that I really enjoyed was that I didn't have to eat ridiculous clean. I wasn't on any food plan but I just had to make healthy choices - which wasn't too difficult. However it was sooo tempting to be naughty and have cake, ice-cream and doughnuts. However a couple of days after the show, I did feel so bloated and looked about 6 months pregnant. That was really uncomfortable, but Emma said completely natural after a competition to bloat slightly. Ill have to be really careful when coming out of the Miss Galaxy show with what I eat. Emma's nutritionist coach, Simon Roshdy said that it can take the same amount of time to get back to normal, as it did dieting and eating clean. Oh boy theres some work ahead!

Me and the Tall Bikini girls with our trophies..
I am so nervous at this point...cheesy smile!!
Trying to hold poses like this is tough...
Theme wear round for bikini...
Hope I dont poke my eye out with my stick...

The Hockey season has also started, which I am sooo excited about! It's been way too long since I picked up a stick, but it's kind of like riding a bike. It was the first league game of the season this weekend and we had a storming game 6-1 against harpenden ladies, and some amazing goals from Holly, Daisy, Lizzy and Jenny. I think we all played so well and Lizzy was just on fire on the left hand side. I was really glad I didn't fall over or play more football thank hockey! I did however get a hockey stick smacked into my knee, so I've got a bit of a pearler coming through. Oh the joys of playing a non-contact sport?!lol I think when it gets close to Miss Galaxy I may have to be a bit more careful with hockey and matches, I don't think having a black bruise on stage is going to gain my extra points.

The ball is there somewhere...
Which way am i supposed to be going again???
Hockey training was amazing last week, it was so nice to get back into it. We started off with 2 laps of the pitch and then sprints - just to get the heart pumping! Then drills and game play. We finished off playing a game against the men, which is always fun, and rather fast! It's hard to bloody keep up with them. I think the start of the new hockey season is probably why I've got so many bruises over my body. Thanks to Tom and Tom for doing training and putting us through our paces..

So back to Miss Galaxy training hard this week. I trained last week but now it's back to eating clean and training even harder. The fitness tests are not going to be a push over. Lots of eggs being eaten this week too, so let's see how that works out! Im going to be training with Emma tomorrow, which I'm looking forward too, then hockey training on Wednesday night. I don't know how it's all going to fit in! Can you grow an extra pair of arms in a few days? If anyone does know give me a shout! Haha

I'm also going to have to get my butt into gear and organise things for the show. Miss Galaxy is not far away (6 weeks) and there's a few things aka, costume, hotel, spray tans etc that I need to organise. As the shows in Crawley I need to organise how spray tans are going to work. How well onto this week - I have no doubt it will go by in a flash. Then its bootcamp on Saturday for Galaxy, which I'm excited to meet the other girls.

Till next time;

Little miss fitness

Fitness Tests - Part Deux!

Where to begin!

Oh my goodness so much has happened this week that i've had to split this blog into 2 - 1 for the madness of the later part of the week and Saturdays training and then 1 just on the Musclemania bootcamp i took part in!

But where did we leave off? Ah yes i had just bought that gorgeous tasting protein powder (i know you must be sick of hearing about it by now - but its just so good!) and id bought my comp shoes; which after breaking them in, are extremely comfortable!

So the later part of the week and before you guys ask, no I haven't managed to find a bikini yet. In fairness i haven't had much time to look - it was going to be my job this weekend, however i don't know how much time i will get to do it. And the comps are looming so i know i need to get my butt (pardon the pun) into gear. I do have to admit something to you all before we go on, which some of you may just roll your eyes at - I've felt guilty this week as i've had 2 rest days from the gym (wednesday & thursday). I have felt really tired the last few days and i'm not 100% sure why? I know it sounds silly but i am the type of person that if i set myself a goal i will want to achieve it with 150% effort in and having 1 rest day in the week seemed fair, but not 2. Call me crazy if you want...

Anyway, on a side note (not gym or competition related) the girls and guys at work managed to finishing packing up the office yesterday ready for the movers to come and take it to the new offices down the road. We even had time for a lunch break - however mine was spot the odd one out. The girls (rightly deserved) went and got pizza or fish & chips for their lunch, whilst i ate a chicken salad! Everyone worked so hard packing stuff up for the move, and it was friday after all.

My lunch, whilst everyone else ate chips/ pizza!

Trial Run! Take 2..

Grin and Bear it! There's 1 minute rest.

So today is D day and in a matter of hours I will have my first full run through of fitness tests with Emma. She has promised to do it under pressure, as if it was the real deal at Miss Galaxy. I would like to admit now that I am rather terrified of what could happen later. I don't like letting people down, so I really REALLY want to hit those goals she set me 2 weeks ago. I can just imagine Emma standing next to me tonight, with the stopwatch screaming "Faster, Go Go, Push Push" (or something like that!)

There's a first for everything!

Success!!! No Pain..No Gain

So as I said in my last post I wonder what Ill mix up in the gym next time around? Well either ive gone insane or just like pain, ive decided to try bench press tonight. And not just any light-weight bench press. No I have gone one, two even three steps further and want to see if i can bench 1/2 my body weight.. (thats 30KG for those of who dont know my weight!)

An Unexpected Fitness Journey Begins!

The Starting Line - walking on my hands!

So picture this, a lovely peaceful morning in the picturesque countryside of Buckinghamshire, with the birds tweeting and the sun beaming down. Well that is until I step out onto my parents lawn, in my Puma leggings and Brooks trainers ready for my workout!! I have somehow managed to persuade my mother in helping me do "wheelbarrows"... yes you guessed right, the wheelbarrows you used to do when you were about 6 or 7 and wanted to race against your mates to see who was the fastest!
Fortunately there are no sneaky tactics here...this exercise is for a different goal. This is all part of my training for the Miss Galaxy Universe competition.
